Activate your Ranorex Self-Hosted Subscription License

Ensure the License Manager is installed on the license host machine. For step-by-step instructions, see Install Ranorex Subscription License Manager.

When you purchase a self-hosted Ranorex subscription license, you need to activate it by following these steps:

1. Open the Ranorex email you received after purchase and download the attached activation PDF.

2. Launch Subscription License Manager and go to Settings › License Manager. Copy the machine fingerprint that displays in Step 1.
   
   
   

   Note: The fingerprint used by the Subscription License Manager is generated based on the machine’s hostname and MAC address.
   If you install the License Manager on a virtual machine (VM) that does not use a static MAC address, the fingerprint may change after a reboot, making the license invalid.
   To prevent this issue in Hyper-V, go to: Settings > Network Adapter > Advanced Features > MAC Address and select the Static option.

3. Using the activation PDF, collect all requested items (e.g., fingerprint, license key, and any additional details).
4. Open a Ranorex Support ticket and attach/provide the requested information.
5. Ranorex Support processes your information and sends the machine license file and key via the ticket for activating the Subscription License Manager. 
6. Upload both files to the web portal from within the License Manager.
   • Add the on-premises machine license file first. Wait for the confirmation that the machine license was added.
     
   • Next, add the product license file.
     

7. After uploading the license file, enter the license key and click Add License. 
   The license details appear, including the License Key, which will be used to activate Ranorex Studio.

   

Your self-hosted subscription license is now active. Next, complete the setup by installing the license in Ranorex Studio.
