Starting with Ranorex Self-Hosted Subscription License Manager (SLM) 1.0.3 and Ranorex Studio 12.8.2, administrators can view information about the users and machines currently consuming license seats.
This information is available on the Machines page in the SLM portal and can help administrators identify active license users and manage seat usage.
Prerequisites
Make sure your environment meets the following requirements:
| Component | Minimum version |
| Ranorex Self-Hosted Subscription License Manager | 1.0.3 |
| Ranorex Studio on each monitored machine | 12.8.2 |
Both components must meet the minimum version requirements. SLM cannot collect the new seat-holder information from machines running an earlier version of Ranorex Studio.
View active seat information
For each active license seat, the Machines page displays the following information:
- User Name: The operating system username of the person using the license.
- Machine Name: The name of the computer on which the license is active.
- IP Address: The IP address of the computer using the license.
Populate the seat-holder information
The User Name and IP Address values are sent to SLM when Ranorex Studio registers the machine with the license server.
To populate this information:
- Update the Self-Hosted Subscription License Manager to version 1.0.3 or later.
- Update Ranorex Studio to version 12.8.2 or later on each machine you want to monitor.
- Ask each user to launch Ranorex Studio after the update. When Studio connects to SLM, it registers the machine again and sends the updated seat information.
- Open the SLM portal.
- Go to the Machines page to view the active license seats and their associated user and machine information.
