Connect your Android device to Ranorex Studio to instrument apps and run tests.
Choose a connection type
You can connect your Android device to the computer where Ranorex Studio is installed using:
- USB (recommended)
- Wi-Fi

Connection requirements
Android USB connection
On some Android devices, USB debugging doesn’t work with the default Windows USB driver. When this happens, Windows may recognize the device, but Ranorex Studio can’t connect to it.
Typical symptoms: Windows detects the phone/tablet, but the device doesn’t appear (or can’t be added) as an endpoint in Ranorex Studio.
Fix: Install the manufacturer’s USB driver (sometimes called developer USB driver or ADB driver), then reconnect the device.
Wi-Fi connection requirements (Android)
- Your computer and device must be able to communicate over the network.
- Ensure required ports are not blocked (see the note above about 31000 TCP/UDP).
Connect the device and add it as an endpoint
-
Connect the device
- Plug the Android device into your computer via USB.
You’ll typically hear the Windows connection sound.
- Confirm the device shows up in Windows (e.g., Settings > Bluetooth & devices).
-
Add the device as an endpoint in Ranorex Studio
Follow the steps in Web and mobile testing > Endpoints > Add an Android/iOS endpoint
